Frequently Asked Questions

  • Due to the high volume of patients and volunteer medical staff, all clinic appointments are scheduled in advance. In order to schedule an appointment, new patients must first submit an application to confirm eligibility. Unfortunately, we cannot accept walk-in patients.

  • The clinic serves low-income residents of DeKalb County who are 18 years old or older without insurance and with household income at or below the 200th percentile of the Federal Poverty Level. Patients give a voluntary donation and no one is turned away for an inability to donate.

  • The clinic’s medical facility, administrative offices, professional medical services and pharmaceuticals are all donated to Physicians’ Care Clinic, making it possible for the clinic to provide primary health care to low-income and uninsured county residents.

    In addition to in-kind donations, operating expenses are paid for through philanthropic gifts from individuals, foundations, local businesses and corporations that believe in the clinic’s mission and want to help disadvantaged DeKalb County residents receive the health care they critically need.

  • Please call 911 immediately if you are in a medical emergency or life-threatening situation. The Physicians’ Care Clinic does not provide emergency or trauma care.

  • Physicians’ Care Clinic does not provide emergency care, trauma care, pregnancy tests, pre-natal care, family planning or do workman’s compensation, employment or disability physicals. Limited STD screenings are provided.

    The clinic only provides non-emergency primary care.
