Grants Awarded to Physicians’ Care Clinic for 2018

Health 1st Foundation and Georgia Charitable Care Network Grants
Support Health Care for Low-Income and Uninsured

Decatur, GA, November 27, 2017 – Physicians’ Care Clinic (PCC) is pleased to announce it is the recipient of recent grants from local foundations to support medical care for low-income and uninsured residents of DeKalb County during 2018.

A grant of $5,000 has been awarded to PCC by Health 1st Foundation to support the clinic’s general operating expenses during the coming year. In addition, the Georgia Charitable Care Network (GCCN) has awarded a grant for services in 2018 to purchase medical supplies for the clinic, including home-monitoring equipment for PCC patients.

PCC was founded by the DeKalb Medical Society in 1992, and is now celebrating its 25th anniversary of continuous service in the DeKalb County community. It is the oldest and largest volunteer-led charitable medical care clinic serving county residents. PCC has nearly 1,200 enrolled patients, and last year achieved 2,155 patient encounters, provided 3,390 diagnostic tests, and filled 3,086 prescriptions.

“We are very grateful to the Health 1st Foundation and to the Georgia Charitable Care Network for their on-going and loyal support of our mission and the services,” said Dee Keeton, the incoming Executive Director of the PCC. “Because of their generosity and commitment, the clinic will begin 2018 with financial support for the important work we do.”
